Workshop One - Effectively Managing Conflict - What To Do When You’re In The Firing Line - This workshop is for anyone in healthcare right now. There are many different reasons why patients get angry & frustrated.  Some will be a one-off and some will be repeat offenders.  Like everything else in life, it takes experience and training to really deal effectively with other people. This workshop will give you increased confidence in your ability to handle conflict and will include skills such as assertiveness, staying calm and getting the best outcome for everyone, the conflict cycle & a Difficult Conversation Blueprint.

Workshop Two - The Essentials of Great Communication and Customer Service Great customer service starts with understanding your patients and understanding yourself. The basics may seem obvious to us all, but it takes experience and training to deal effectively with other people. Learn tools to increase confidence and your ability to communicate clearly and effectively, build positive relationships and handle more challenging situations with angry or simply frustrated and upset patients, plus a useful Difficult Conversations Blueprint.

Workshop Three - Build Your Assertiveness & Confidence - Learn how to set boundaries, communicate your needs and improve your interpersonal relationships. Succeeding with Challenging People - We can all be difficult at times, but how do you learn to deal with behaviours that make people challenging to work with? This workshop explores behaviour, how you interact with others and how you can improve your relationships to overcome obstacles to good communication and a healthy working environment.

Build Your Assertiveness & Confidence - What is assertiveness & why is it important? - Assertiveness underpins everything you do in all aspects of your everyday life and being genuinely assertive isn't easy and for many people, it's not a natural skill. It's much easier to be submissive or aggressive in difficult situations or when dealing with difficult people. Learn what assertiveness is, why is it important and how can you get better at it, plus practical tools and techniques such as how to set boundaries, communicate your needs and improve your interpersonal relationships.

Managing Transitions & Change in VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex & Ambiguous) Times - Enabling you to support and lead a team in times of change and challenge - The pace of change has increased to such an extent that being in transition is now the normal state of being. Agility, resilience and creativity are vital to success. Skills to help navigate this rapidly changing and volatile environment are now needed more than ever. Learn appropriate interventions to help you support and lead your team.

RESILIENCE WORKSHOPS - Finding Your Inner Speed Limit - 1. Introduction to Resilience for You and Your Team – Reducing Stress and Burnout, Promoting Self-Care & increasing your sense of Well-Being. Skills that you and your team will be able to apply in your workplace. 2. Strengthen your Resilience – A more in-depth session designed to give a deeper understanding of the tools from session one, strengthening your resilience in your everyday life and supporting you and your team’s sense of well-being 3. Embodying Resilience - This workshop is an opportunity to practise the skills learnt in sessions 1 & 2, taking a deeper exploration into finding ways to combat stress and anxiety.

These workshops integrate techniques such as MSC (Mindful Self-Compassion).  MSC is based on ground-breaking research by Dr Kristin Neff, integrated with the clinical perspective of Dr Christopher Germer.

Making the learning stick

So you spend lots of money, effort and time on training. The staff are all enthusiastic about it, but when they get back to the office, their bulging in-trays and then... Reality kicks in. After a few days the training and enthusiasm fades and it’s as if it never happened. Why is that? Because they haven’t had the chance to repeatedly used those skills in a meaningful manner.

So I use a learning support system. This provides online learning that strengthens and encourages your team during and after the training is completed.

As part of the learning experience, you will have access to an online peer support community and a Learning Platform for all training courses. This is through a Learning Platform called GiraffePad. An easy and simplified learning platform that harnesses the benefits of peer support to encourage you and your team. This includes 24/7 access to training resources such as videos and slides, further embedding the new skills and tools that you’ve learnt.

As budgets get tighter, making the case for learning and development will only get tougher but the ability to track the impact of training will go a long way to justifying the outlay.
